Wolf + Mythologies
Following the journey of Asha, the Mexican gray wolf that escaped federal government boundaries, Susan Melinda Morée trekked along the same path to experience the bravery and daring of one lone wolf seeking reproductive freedom. Wolf + Mythologies is a series of 19 poems about that discovery.
Wolf + Mythologies was made possible by a grant from the nonprofit, New Mexico Writers.
Wolf + Mythologies appears in Cacti Fur Collective, Volume 1 alongside poems by current and former Silver City/Grant County Poet Laureates Heather Frankland, Beate Sigriddaughter and Elise Stuart.
“There are collections that speak softly to us, and then there are those that howl, low and steady, through memory, myth, and land. The poems in this next collection move with a wild, deliberate grace, circling themes of womanhood, wilderness, and survival.”
